Review of NUS High test
Yo people, back from the test i guess.
Met Hui Tian and Tse pin near the ticketing barrier and set off to clementi. On the journey there, we discussed about maths from my maths notes and some science. Shan't elaborate.
Haha anywayz, reached NUS High and registered. Tse pin didn't bring a ruler so we went out, wandered around and found a shop. So, in desperation, he asked the shopkeeper for any intact ruler. The uncle conjured a Yellow and staint ruler. Better than nothing Tse pin says. -shrug-
Entered the examination hall and heartrate raised! Gah!! Was so nervous. We were given the green light to start and it began. There were 51 multiple choice and 19, or maybe more, lolz. For the multiple choice, if it is answered wrongly, marks will be deducted while if left unanswered, marks will neither be deducted not added. Left about 5-7 question blank as they were either:
- Needs lots of time to get the answer
- Has the chance of taking a lot of time on the question and not getting the answer
- No clue at all
There were qns about the detailed process of how the anti bodies destroy germs and bacteria. Left that out. There was one that filled up half the page, so left that one out and attempt it if i have the time.
Love the questions;, mind challenging and has an advantage on those who reads widely (of course unlike my school's. )
Rushed through it cuz i have the knack of not completing papers as my time management sucks. I did somehow manage the time and completed the paper. But still, more time can help a lot.
Then, section B, the inevitable carelessness comes in. *sigh* SOOO FRUSTTRAATING >(
Realised about the carelessed (Is there such word?) qns while discussing them with my friends.
One of the careless question was one of those famous ones.
Qn 1: the area of the shaded area (srry i forgot to shade; they are the one that is other than the semi circles) is K * Pi cm2. Find k.
The Radius is 12 for the quadrant. Now i want to find the smaller radius for the smaller semi circle
So i joined the 2 radii to form that line and then use Pythagoras Theorem. The Unknown radius is (x).
That is my working; I redo it at home, so i didnt take the picture in the TEST! lol (I know, my handwriting sucks)
My blunder. ARGHHHHH. Can't believe i got that wrrooongggg !!!!!! I need as many marks as i can and can't afford to have carelessness in this test *sigh*. It won't then be my best and that won't satisfy me.- Did not divide by 2 to get the area of the 2 semicircles; i stopped when i got the whole circle
- Did not divide by 4 to get the area of the quadrant; instead i got the whole area
Qn 2: Find the value of X and Y given that the area of the figure is 2880.
Yup i suck in art >< . anywayz the rectagles are congruent. The bottom ones are lying horizontally and vice versa for the top ones.
My working. I stop once i got (a) cuz its obvious after that. Note: (b)=breath (a)=lenght
My careless:- I did not multiply it by 4 to get (X); i just inserted the value 16
- I did not plus 16(a) and 20(b) to get (Y); i just inserted 20(b)
*sigh* 5 marks is a lot. damn damn damn... All i can do now is pray
There's this song by mariah carey; hero. I dun normally listen to this type of songs cuz its like erm... gay? lol. But the words are encouraging and there's nothing else to turn to. *sigh*

Asha: Haha, no lol, what i said was, choosing girls from My school will be my last option if its necessary. Lol, they are plainly immature, bitchy personality, make a big deal of their looks and showing them off (which is bitchy) and they just follow where everybody goes (in life, not literaly) without thinking cuz they can't think at all. Just hate their personality. And lols, girls are not in my mind at the moment; trying to save my screwed life back is ( so are friends) =] Oh yea, did you take ur tagboard out? Cuz i can't see it lol.
